Prevention & Control
The goal of the Cancer Prevention, Control & Population Research Program is to decrease cancer incidence, morbidity, mortality and effect on quality of life by:
- Identifying barriers and developing interventions that affect the delivery of cancer detection and prevention services in the primary care setting.
- Developing mechanisms to facilitate the use of technology in genetic screening for cancer risk.
- Identifying markers for cancer incidence.
- Developing approaches to increase utilization of cancer prevention and detection services among underserved populations.
The Cancer Center provides participation in a variety of prevention trials.
