Cancer Rehabilitation

Cancer Rehab Center Services Following Cancer Treatment

Providing services for patients at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center’s Rehab Services help those with cancer regain their strength and function after undergoing cancer treatments.

Following treatment for cancer, many cancer survivors suffer from side effects that impact their performance of everyday tasks. Cancer rehab can improve quality of life for patients, reduce pain, increase strength, and reduce the number of hospitalizations both during and after cancer treatment. The goal is to help cancer patients regain control over their lives and remain as independent and productive as possible.

Special Rehab Services

Cancer rehabilitation services offered by our certified therapists include:

  • Occupational therapy to help improve independence with activities of daily living and manage lymphedema
  • Physical therapy to improve overall conditioning, prevent falls, and manage lymphedema
  • Speech therapy to remediate swallowing, speech, cognitive, and language problems

Our team can work with patients in their homes, at outpatient clinics, and in the hospital. Patients will need a doctor’s referral for these services.
