UH Seidman Cancer Center part of Case Comprehensive Cancer Center Now Part of an Alliance of the World’s Leading Cancer Centers

University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, as part of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center at Case Western Reserve University, has been elected to become a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of the world’s leading cancer centers.

As part of the Case Comprehensive Center Center, UH Seidman Cancer Center is in the elite group of 26 NCCN member institutions. UH Seidman Cancer Center patients are benefiting from this alliance that develops the guidelines for cancer care. Our patients will be receiving the latest scientific information through their physicians to help with the doctor and patient decision making process. This ultimately improves patient outcomes.

In addition, this organization performs outcomes research. In every way, UH Seidman Cancer Center is helping to formulate the best possible treatment options that will be used around the world for all cancer patients.

The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 41 programs in the U.S. designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). NCI-designated cancer centers are characterized by scientific excellence and the capability to integrate a diversity of research approaches to focus on the problem of cancer.

Originally announced as an alliance of 13 leading cancer centers in 1995, NCCN is now in its 20th year of operation. This network of cancer centers is devoted to patient care, research and education in order to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of cancer care so that patients can live better lives.
