The Evening Before Your Interview

You are invited to attend a casual dinner with the residents. Most residents prefer to host the applicant dinner at their home, though they also may choose to take you to one of their favorite restaurants.

6:30 p.m. – Several of the residents will meet you in the lobby of the Glidden House to drive you to the dinner, and back. On the way, the residents will drive you past the hospital so you know where to go the next morning. Depending on where the dinner is being hosted, you may see some of the residents' favorite places mentioned throughout this website.

Interview Day Schedule

7:45 a.m. – Meet in the Lobby – the main entrance to UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital is located on Adelbert Road. Feel free to park in the visitors garage if you are driving; we will validate your parking ticket for you. Remember to bring the parking ticket with you.

8:00-8:30 a.m. – Welcome Session – You will meet with one of our Program Directors who will provide you with information and highlights on our program. If you have questions that you are not able to ask during this session, you will have time later in the day when you meet the program director again.

8:30-9:15 a.m. – Rounds! – You will spend some time with one of the teams observing morning rounds.

9:30-10:15 a.m. – Faculty Interview – This is your opportunity to discuss your experiences, future plans, and ask questions about UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. If you informed us of a special interest, we will do our best to match you with a faculty member from that area.

10:15-11:00 a.m. – Hospital Tour – One of our residents or chief residents will take you on a tour of our beautiful facility.

11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Sr. Rounds – You will observe UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital's morning report for senior residents on the wards, which includes case-based discussion and resident-led literature review.

12:00-1:00 p.m. – Lunch with the Residents – Relax and spend some time talking with residents about our program, their experience here, things to do in Cleveland, and more.

1:00-1:30 p.m. – Social Gathering – After noon conference ends there will be more residents stopping by to say hello and mingle. This is another opportunity for you to get to know the people you might be working with, and to ask more questions.

1:30-1:45 p.m. – Office of the Chair – You will end your day with a brief session with one of the members of the Office of the Chair.

2:00 p.m. – End of Day – We will take you back to the lobby.
