WKYC The Health Difference
As part of the 2008 UH advertising campaign, we are introducing “The Health Difference”, which will run four times a month on Channel 3 News on Thursday nights 11pm and Sunday mornings at 9am.

“The Health Difference” will feature two-minute UH patient story segments and will highlight all the wonderful work that UH Doctors, Nurses and Staff accomplish every day.
Pediatric Epilepsy
Kaitlyn was diagnosed with epilepsy at just five months old. Despite numerous medications, her seizures increased over the following year. So much so, that learning to walk became an impossible task. Her parents knew there was only one place to turn, so they brought Kaitlyn to the specialists at Rainbow.

As the number one ranked children’s hospital in the Midwest, the experts here are regarded as among the best in the nation. With leading edge technology not found at other children’s hospitals, UH pediatric neurosurgeons were able to successfully remove the small section of her brain causing the seizures.

Today, at six years old, Kaitlyn is seizure-free. New challenges, like graduating to orange belt, are no match for her fearlessness.
