Social Work

Medical Social Workers provide ongoing social supports to patients and their families. Assisting with illness adjustment, increase their ability to problem solve, and provide support as families learn to cope with difficult situations. Social work staff act as advocates, as well as help families to obtain local and national resources that can enable them to function at the highest level possible, as they journey through their medical experience.

Social workers are available to act as liaisons between the patient/family and medical team, school district, and other agencies involved in the care and support of the patient and family. A social worker is available on the inpatient Hematology/Oncology Unit, as well as in the outpatient clinics. If you have any questions please let us know how we can be of assistance to you by contacting one of the social workers listed below.
