Sante Ghetti and Lisa Vitkus traveled to DC to participate in the CureSearch Reach the Day event. They were joined by 350 children, families and physicians from around the country for a rally in support of the Conquer Childhood Cancer Act which has been introduced in the House and Senate. They brought with them a wonderful banner and drawings by our patients – coordinated by Melissa Najda.
We also had the opportunity to visit the offices of our Ohio Senators and Representatives. Olivia Crowley’s family joined us for these events as did patients and staff from Columbus Children’s and Cincinnati Children’s. Olivia was a patient at Rainbow who died of Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2005.
It’s not too late to write to your elected officials to ask them to support this legislation.
