The Greater Cleveland Poison Control Center is the State of Ohio designated Poison Prevention & Treatment Center for Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Allen, Ashtabula, Auglaize, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Mercer, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, and Wood counties. Information covering the management of poisoning is provided by specially trained, drug and poison registered nurses or pharmacists,under the supervision of a clinical toxicologist. A follow-up system has been established to monitor the outcome of patients involved in a poisoning. Informational materials and educational programs on poisoning are available to the public and to health care professionals.
