The Evening Before your Interview (casual attire)
6:30 p.m.
A Med-Peds resident will meet you on the first floor of the hotel right outside of Starbucks (there is a small lounge area) and serve as your contact person for the evening For those applicants not staying at the hotel, you are welcome to meet the group at the hotel to travel with the group to dinner. Transportation to and from the restaurant will be provided.
Interview Day Schedule (business attire)
7:15 a.m. - (promptly) Shuttle Departs Doubletree Hotel
7:45 a.m.- Arrive at Lakeside entrance to University Hospitals
The entrance is located on Adelbert Road. If you are driving, please park in the University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital Visitors Garage, it’s just past UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital's main entrance. You can walk through UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, following the signs to Lakeside, or you can exit the garage and walk outside to the entrance. We will provide you with a parking pass when you leave so parking will be free.
8:00 a.m.- 8:45 a.m.- Welcome Session with Program Directors
You will meet with the Med-Peds Program Directors, as well as the Directors for both the Internal Medicine and Pediatric Residency programs. The directors will provide you with information and highlights on our program. If you have questions that you are not able to ask during this session, you will have time later in the day when you meet the program director during your brief one-on-one meeting.
9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. - Faculty Interviews
This is your opportunity to discuss your experiences, future plans, and ask questions about UH & UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospitals. You will meet with a faculty member from Pediatrics and a faculty member from Medicine. Although we are unable to provide you with advanced notice of who your interviewers will be, if you informed us of a subspecialty interest, we will do our best to match you with a faculty member from that subspecialty.
10:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m. - Hospital Tour
One of our residents or chief residents will take you on a tour of our beautiful facilities.
11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Rounds
You will spend some time with one of the teams observing morning rounds.
11:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.- Break
12:00- 12:30 p.m. – Cleveland Our City!
Yes, we have four beautiful seasons and we will share all of the wonderful things our city has to offer you and your family.
12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. - Lunch with the Residents
Relax and spend some time talking with residents about our program, their experience here, things to do in Cleveland, and more. The program director will meet briefly with each applicant individually as a wrap up to the day and to answer any additional questions.
2:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.-Bus Tour
You will get a chance to see a few sights around University Circle/Cleveland Heights Areas and stop by the VA Medical Center for a tour.
3:00 p.m.-Arrive back at Doubletree Hotel
