To enhance security at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, we have introduced a new FAST-PASS® guest identification system.
- All parents, guardians, siblings and visitors accessing secured in patient care areas will be required to obtain a FAST-PASS® photo ID.
- FAST-PASS® stations will be set up at all guest entrances into UH Rainbow Babies& Children’s Hospital including the Main Reception Lobby — 1st Floor, Lower Lobby Reception Desk, NICU Reception Desk and the Pediatric Emergency Department.
- A photo ID will be quickly created for each visitor. Adult guests need only provide a photo identification for verification and a FAST-PASS® photo badge will be generated in seconds. (Provisions are also in place for guests without photo identification). The ID will be dated for the date of visit and will only be valid for that day.
- Most hospitals throughout the region are adopting a guest ID system to ensure the safety and privacy of patients and their families.
- Visiting children will be required to wear a duplicate copy of their parents/adult escorts photo identification.
- UH Rainbow employees and physicians are required to wear their hospital identification badges at all times while on hospital premises.
- All vendors and sales representatives will continue to follow our established University Hospitals Policy for Vendors.
