Pulmonary Disease

The Pediatric Pulmonary Disease Division specializes in pediatric pulmonology and the treatment of infants, children, and adolescents with cystic fibrosis, asthma, airway problems, and other pulmonary diseases.

Specialized diagnostic services include:

  • Flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy (available for patients of any age and size, including premature infants).

Clinical laboratories with special facilities for sweat testing, pulmonary function and challenge testing, and microbiology

Division Resources:

  • Thoracic surgeons experienced in procedures such as open lung biopsies and rigid bronchoscopy
  • Pediatric pathologists specializing in lung pathology
  • Radiologic facilities, including digital subtraction angiography, computerized tomographic, and nuclear magnetic resonance imagers
  • Pediatric radiologists with extensive experience in pulmonary disease
  • Respiratory therapists who can develop custom built equipment
