Ambulatory Clinic

RAP clinic:
The resident continuity clinic is held in the Rainbow Ambulatory Practice (RAP) Clinic, which is on-site on at Rainbow.
Every resident sees patients in their clinic one half day per week throughout the three years of residency, allowing them the opportunity to establish continuity with their patients.  Residents provide well child care and anticipatory guidance, as well as manage common pediatric illnesses while in RAP clinic.
Education in clinic is provided during the conferences given at the beginning of every clinic session.  These talks are generally given by the preceptors at the beginning of the year, but as the year goes on, residents take ownership of the conference and present topics themselves.  There is also an online curriculum of common ambulatory pediatric topics that residents both add to and learn from.

OBRE:
In addition to RAP clinic, resident can elect to spend 2-4 weeks in a community pediatric practice through our Outpatient Based Residency Education (OBRE) program.  There are currently six different community pediatric practices from which interested residents can choose.  The experience gives residents the opportunity to deliver pediatric ambulatory care in a variety of community settings.
