Anchalee Limrungsikul, M.D. (2010) Dr. Limrungsikul is a graduate of the pediatric residency program at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. Upon completion of her fellowship training, she returned to Bangkok to practice. She completed a research survey of management of PDA in premature infants with mentor Dr. Michele Walsh.
Mohamed Mohamed, M.D. (2010) Dr. Mohamed graduated from the pediatric residency program at the University of Iowa. He worked on a study of respiratory control sponsored by a grant from Ikaria and a clinical study of osteopenia of prematurity. He is currently working at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.
Thomas Lai, M.D. (2009) Dr. Lai is a 2006 graduate of the pediatric residency program of the Children’s Hospital and Research Center at Oakland. He worked on a sound study in our NICU with Dr. Michele Walsh. Dr. Lai also investigated the neurotoxicity of benzyl alcohol and propylene glycol, inactive ingredients found in many medications. His research mentors for this project were Dr. Cynthia Bearer and Dr. Christopher Wilson. He works in a large private practice in northern California.
Esther Kim, M.D. (2009) Dr. Kim completed her pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center in 2006. Her research focus was the safety and efficacy of Ursodiol in VLBW infants with cholestasis. Her research mentors were Drs. Walsh and Wilson-Costello. She joined Pediatrix and is working in Denver, Colorado.
Jessica Madden, M.D. (2009) Dr. Madden completed her residency at the University of Massachusetts in 2006. Her research mentor was Dr. Maureen Hack and her main research project involved investigating feeding problems and practices in VLBW infants in the first 2 years of life. She is in a private practice in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Beau Batton, M.D. (2008) Dr. Batton completed his pediatric residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in 2005. He was involved in various research projects examining blood pressure in premature infants. Dr. Michele Walsh was his research mentor. Dr. Batton is now a faculty member at Southern Illinois University with an adjunct appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at Case allowing him to continue to be involved in his NICHD Hypotension in ELGAN Trial.
Ami Kohn, M.D. (2008) Dr. Kohn completed his pediatric residency in 2005 at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He worked with Dr. Richard Martin investigating the reflex apnea neural pathways associated with bradycardia with both neuroanatomical and neurophysiological studies. He currently is a faculty member at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Sean Frederick, M.D. (2008) Dr. Frederick is a 2005 graduate of the pediatric residency program of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is now a faculty member in that same program. His research focused on fecal inflammatory markers in NEC. His research mentor was Dr. Michele Walsh.
Angel Luciano, M.D. (2008) Dr. Luciano’s research interests include HIV and neonatal immunology. He served as a faculty member at Rainbow until 2010 when he moved to a position at the University of South Florida.
