Research Training

Although our training program does not include a dedicated year of research, our fellows are required to complete a research project at the end of their training program. Fellows select a project mentor early in the course of the fellowship and develop a project, which they pursue throughout their fellowship. Fellowship projects range may range from basic science to clinical, patient-based research. At the beginning of their training, fellows participate in a statistics course learning the basics and building blocks of what it entails to develop a project that is evidence based. Fellows are required to present their project at the end of their training at the department sponsored Fellow Science day. Some also go onto present their projects at national meetings as well.
