The Division and Institution

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital consists of three faculty members, one transplant coordinator/RN, one nurse-educator, one pediatric peritoneal dialysis nurse, one nutritionist and one social worker. In additional to caring for patients with general nephrology conditions, the Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides specialized care to children with hypertension in the Rainbow Hypertension Center, end stage renal disease in the Rainbow Dialysis and Renal Transplant Center, and inherited and congenital renal disorders in the Rainbow Center for Inherited Kidney Diseases.

UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is affiliated with the Case School of Medicine. The medical school is in a phase of rapid expansion of its research effort and is now among the top 10 to 15 medical schools for NIH funding. The Department of Pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital consists of 140 faculty members, is among the top five departments of pediatrics in NIH funding, and is consistently ranked among the top pediatric hospitals in the country, as named by U.S.News and World Report.
