A Level I pediatric trauma center offers the highest level of trauma care across the continuum from injury prevention through rehabilitation. As a verified Level I Pediatric Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospitals provides care from board-certified trauma surgeons, supported by pediatric nurses and a pediatric emergency department team specially trained in the care of injured children, all ready to respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

How do I refer a pediatric trauma patient to UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Trauma Center?

To refer a patient, call the Transfer Referral Center at 216-844-1111. Referrals can be made by physicians or hospital systems. Transport arrangements for critically injured pediatric trauma patients can be made through the Transfer Referral Center. Transport option include critical care ground transport or MedEvac helicopter transport.
