Exploring New GI Treatments Through Research and Innovation

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition actively participates in ongoing clinical research to explore and discover new and innovative therapies in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders in children. Since 2012, our clinicians have authored 64 different manuscripts and chapters and have presented more than 40 abstracts at national meetings. There are currently 14 IRB-approved studies under way.

Topics of research include the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat inflammatory bowel disease and cancer, as well as the identification of novel genes involved in intestinal inflammation and GI cancer.
