Advanced Radiation Oncology Services

Radiation Oncology at UH Seidman Cancer Center provides radiation therapy and supportive services to adult oncology and hematology patients, as well as patients whose condition is amenable to radiation therapy.

UH Seidman Cancer Center is committed to providing the most advanced radiation oncology services available, including:

  • 3-D conformal radiation therapy
  • External beam radiation therapy
  • Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
  • Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
  • Linear accelerator
  • Ultrasound positioning guided equipment

Teams and Facilities Dedicated to Radiation Oncology Treatment

Specially educated radiation therapists and nurses care for patients with cancer, cancer-related and other radiology-specific health problems. A board certified radiation oncologist is available 24 hours a day and is responsible for each patient’s individual radiation therapy treatment plan. A dosimetrist and physicist are also present to assist in the development of the individual patient radiation therapy treatment plans.

The radiation oncology unit at UH Seidman Cancer Center is built from resources dedicated to radiation oncology, including:

  • Care simulator
  • Conference room
  • Four exam rooms
  • Linear accelerator suite
  • Physician offices
  • Related waiting areas

Radiation oncology is located on the first floor of the Medical Arts 3 building. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday. On call 24-hour coverage is in place to facilitate care for those patients requiring emergency radiation therapy.
