Advanced Medical Oncology Services Offered at University Hospitals Seidman Medical Center

In medical oncology, patient care delivery and treatment planning involves using an interdisciplinary team of professionals. This group of medical experts includes specialty physicians in a weekly cancer conference to develop and evaluate each patient’s individual comprehensive care plan.

Medical oncology services are administered in an infusion center setting and include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Hormone therapy
  • Immunotherapy

Outpatient medical oncology provides services to adult oncology and hematology patients including:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Infusion therapy
  • Physician office visits
  • Supportive services

Specially educated nurses care for patients with cancer-related health problems and diseases. Board-certified medical oncologists develop an individualized patient care plan and are available through the physician clinic and/or 24-hour call for emergency situations.

An Advanced Facility Designed for Cancer Treatment

The outpatient medical oncology unit consists of:

  • 11 treatment stations
  • Conference room
  • Physician offices
  • Related waiting areas
  • Six exam rooms

This specialty unit is located on the second floor of the Medical Arts Center 3 building and is equipped to care for the adult oncology outpatient receiving examinations, active therapies and/or interventions.
