3DHD Surgery
Experience the 3DHD Surgery Difference at University Hospitals Parma Medical Center
Take a tour of the 3DHD Operating Suite with Dr. Wong as he explains what 3DHD surgery is and the benefits for patients.
UH Parma Medical Center is the first hospital in the greater Cleveland area to integrate a three-dimensional (3-D) high-definition (HD) surgical vision system into its operating room. The addition of the 3DHD Vision System from Viking Systems provides the hospital with a fully integrated 3DHD laparoscopic operating suite.
Patients Benefit from 3DHD Surgery
When the surgeon is equipped with 3-D vision during laparoscopic surgery, the patient benefits with:
- Increased safety
- Improved outcomes
- Improved operative times
While surgeons performing open procedures could view a patient’s anatomy in three dimensions using their eyes, the advent of laparoscopic surgery limited such visualization to two dimensions in favor of the patient benefits offered by minimally invasive laparoscopy. Laparoscopic visualization comes full circle with the introduction of a stand-alone 3DHD visualization system.
