The innovative Electrophysiology Center of the University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute at University Hospitals Case Medical Center – one of the first such facilities in the United States – is recognized as a leading provider of diagnostic and individualized-treatment options for cardiac arrhythmias.
To complement the Electrophysiology Center, the Atrial Fibrillation Center of UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute was established to address the most common cardiac arrhythmia and provides the highest level of expertise in the diagnosis and management of a condition that increases the risk of stroke, congestive heart failure and untimely death.
Our physicians have been intimately involved with both the development and clinical delivery of catheter ablation techniques for more than 20 years. Results from our catheter ablation program – which restores normal rhythm and often eliminates the need for anti-arrhythmic and anticoagulant medications – surpass the expected procedural success rates of the most experienced centers worldwide.
We serve as a comprehensive educational resource for patients and their referring physicians, providing state-of-the-art medical, ablative and surgical treatments, as well as participation in investigational clinical trials evaluating new strategies, medicines and technologies.
In addition, our STOP AF program at University Hospitals – Simplified Therapeutic Options for all three types of atrial fibrillation: Paroxysmal, Persistent and Permanent – actively incorporates input and collaboration with referring physicians in the management of each patient's case.
