Jay Shah, MD, is a pediatric otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. He holds a joint appointment at UH Ahuja Medical Center and also sees patients at UH Westlake Health Center. He is Assistant Professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Otolaryngology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Shah is board certified in otolaryngology. His special interests include pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, pediatric dysphagia (swallowing problems) and pediatric airway disorders.

Dr. Shah earned his doctorate in medicine from Rush Medical College, Chicago, Ill. He served his residency in otolaryngology at UH Cleveland Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine/Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was appointed to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital staff in 2013.

it is somewhat uncomfortable to rate Dr Shaw on a 1-10 or very poor/very good scale. Dr Shaw is so much more than a quick survey. His ability to connect and listen to parents and his patients is unmatched. He is deliberate in his questions but so personable that at no time do we feel rushed or just a number in his day. I cannot say how lucky we are to have met Dr Shaw and to have him treat our daughter.

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized.
