Julie Belkin, MD

Dr. Belkin, a native Clevelander has been on the faculty at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine since finishing her residency in 1993. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Case Western University School of Medicine.
She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Pre-Med from Northwestern University. She completed medical school at the Medical College of Ohio, in Toledo. She did her transitional residency year and Ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland.
Dr. Belkin is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with an interest in cataract surgery. She is involved in medical school and Ophthalmology resident education.
Dr. Belkin has also been involved in clinical research. Currently she is working on an NIH-sponsored study evaluating the effect of cataract surgery on dementia in patients who have both visually significant cataract and Alzheimer’s Disease.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized.
