If your insurance coverage is with Medical Mutual of Ohio's SuperMed or Medicare Advantage networks, you'll now have access to care throughout the entire University Hospitals system.
An agreement between UH and Medical Mutual expands coverage for approximately 650,000 Medical Mutual of Ohio members. You'll be able to access all UH doctors, hospitals and health centers in the UH system, including UH Cleveland Medical Center facilities and UH Bedford Medical Center, a campus of UH Regional Hospitals, as well as UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Seidman Cancer Center. Previously, Medical Mutual SuperMed enrollees were unable to receive in-network coverage for services at those sites.
“The agreement is a huge win for people who have Medical Mutual SuperMed or Medicare Advantage coverage,” says Dan Simon, MD, President, UH Cleveland Medical Center. “It gives them access to Ohio’s first and most prestigious cancer hospital – UH Seidman Cancer Center – as well as access to the leading children's hospital in Northeast Ohio, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Additionally, UH Cleveland Medical Center is at the forefront of leveraging discovery and innovation to literally change the way we prevent, diagnose and treat patients.”
According to Dr. Simon, patients with Medical Mutual insurance can now receive continuity of care across the entire UH range of services, including highly specialized treatments, such as proton therapy, neonatology, the child and adolescent cancer program, and the cystic fibrosis program offered at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Seidman Cancer Center. Procedures performed at UH facilities will be covered for Medical Mutual members at their highest benefit levels.
“As a Medical Mutual subscriber, you have access to all of UH’s upgraded facilities and participating physicians when you need them,” he says.
Following this agreement, UH now participates in all major health insurance plans in Northeast Ohio.
