Among the millions of patients that UH serves each year, over 200,000 are referred by physicians from all over the world. Prompt communication with referring physicians is critical; therefore we have established the Physician Referral Department which expedites and safeguards the flow of information.
Physician Referral Department staff are available to answer calls Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST. (After 4:30 PM, you may leave a voice mail, which will be returned the following morning.) The Department routinely helps health care professionals:
* access the knowledge and expertise of UH Case Medical Center departments and faculty;
* coordinate referrals;
* discuss atypical or problematic cases;
* order specialized tests;
* confirm a diagnosis, or
* determine where to send medical records.
