A Randomized Controlled Trial of Vitamin D Therapy in Heart Failure Patients

Intro: A Randomized trial of Vitamin D and Calcium therapy versus Placebo and Calcium in patients 60 years or older with Heart Failure from any cause.
Condition:
Description: The purpose of this clinical trial is to assess the effect of Vitamin D therapy on physical strength and exercise ability in older patients with heart failure.
Criteria: Participants must be at least 60 years of age. Participants must also have some shortness of breath or fatigue related to their heart failure and not be undergoing treatment for osteoporosis (weak bones).  Additional eligibility criteria apply.
