University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital’s Division of Nurse-Midwifery Delivers Personalized, Collaborative Care Throughout Cleveland

As the largest midwifery service in the greater Cleveland area, our certified nurse-midwives assist with labor and birth for approximately 1,100 patients annually, which is almost 30 percent of all deliveries performed at UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital. Our midwives help patients at four locations:

• UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital
• University Hospitals Landerbrook Health Center
• University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center, A Campus of UH Regional Hospitals

Over the last two years, the responsibilities of our midwives have greatly expanded beyond routine ambulatory and inpatient care. Now our certified nurse-midwives also offer 24/7 in-house calls that focus on a comprehensive team approach involving both attending physicians and residents. With this service, patients can expect personalized, coordinated and expedited midwifery care, along with the benefits of physician collaboration, consultation and referral when needed.
