Part of Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, this center has a resource library with information on parenting, breastfeeding, sibling relationships and much more. Materials may be borrowed for a limited time within the hospital, and copying services are available.
Patients who have recently given birth at MacDonald Women’s Hospital find the library to be an excellent source on topics relating to newborns and their parents. The Frohring Family Resource Center supports a caring and effective partnership between families and their healthcare team by providing general assistance on baby care and health-related issues. Lacrimal gland tumor
A lacrimal gland tumor is a tumor in the glands that release tears. These glands are located above and to the side of each eye. The tumor can be harmless (benign) or cancer (malignant).
Causes, incidence, and risk factors |

- Double vision
- Fullness in one eyelid or the side of the face
- Pain
A head and neck or eye (orbital) specialist will perform an examination and evaluate vision. Tests may include a CT or MRI scan.
Often patients need surgery to remove the tumor. Cancerous tumors may need additional treatment.
The outlook is generally excellent for noncancerous growths. The outlook for cancer depends on the type of cancer and stage at which it is discovered.
