Advancing Patient Care Through Research and Clinical Trials

University Hospitals Breast Health Center physicians and researchers are committed to investigating new surgical techniques, medications, diagnostics and technologies to care for patients with breast cancer or other breast conditions.

New Technology for Breast Cancer Screening

As part of a multicenter study, University Hospitals is the only health system in Northeast Ohio to offer tomosynthesis, an investigational technology that provides three-dimensional, more detailed imaging of the breast.

This innovative clinical trial explores the use of a promising new technology that may improve the early detection of breast cancer. Researchers believe that this new breast imaging technique will make breast tumors easier to see in dense breast tissue and may reduce recall rates due to suspicious findings with standard imaging.
