Fetal Anomaly Consultation and Care
Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists Provide Fetal Anomaly Consultation and Care
Esteemed specialists at the Barbara Peterson Ruhlman Women & Newborn Center offer fetal anomaly consultation and shared care with primary providers for patients with high-risk pregnancies who will deliver at University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital and at other hospitals in the area.
Uncovering Fetal Cardiovascular Disease
Our highly trained, board-certified physicians work with pediatric cardiologists to identify and define fetal cardiovascular disease, the most common congenital anomaly.
By evaluating highly sophisticated ultrasound images and Doppler measurements, our multidisciplinary team of experts can uncover fetal cardiac anomalies and determine the best treatment plan.
Continuity of Care Throughout Pregnancy
If a fetal anomaly is found, the patient's primary OB/GYN physician has a highly trained maternal fetal medicine expert available to help monitor fetal care throughout a high-risk pregnancy. The resulting collaboration assures continuity of care and immediate access to specialty services.
High-Risk Specialist Coverage
A high-risk specialist clinician is available to consult on obstetric patients at UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital. In addition, highly skilled obstetrician gynecologists accept maternal transports at our Regional Perinatal Center seven days a week.
