Advanced Fetal Care Services
About 3 to 5 percent of all babies are born with a birth defect. Many of these can be detected by specialized ultrasound exams. Our team has access to the most up-to-date and sophisticated genetic testing through the Center for Human Genetics, including routine chromosome evaluation, gene sequencing and targeted molecular genetic testing. The physical connection between UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital and UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital also allows formation of a team of maternal, fetal and pediatric experts to meet a patient’s unique needs of counseling and care.
