Although great emphasis is placed on research and technology to cure cancer, another mission of the University Hospitals Ireland Cancer Center now University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center is to help patients heal and give them hope for the future. That is why much of our care focuses on caring for the emotional and spiritual needs of patient and family. The UH Seidman Cancer Center provides a full range of services to create a supportive and compassionate environment. At the UH Seidman Cancer Center, medical experts join with specialized nurses, dietitians, social workers, psychologists, occupational and physical therapists, pharmacists, spiritual counselors, and music and art therapists to ensure that the many needs of patients and families are met—before, during, and after treatment.

As an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center provides physicians, patients, families and the public with a cancer information program that offers educational resources to the community. This program helps callers throughout northern Ohio make responsible decisions about their treatment.
