About Us

In order to provide the most comprehensive services, Ireland Cancer Center is set to build a new, free-standing building that will unite all of our departments and services under one roof. The proposed 320,000-square-foot facility, slated to open in 2009, will include 200 inpatient beds (up from the current 60-75 beds), glass-enclosed areas with visual access to research labs and clinical pods that will create special areas of cancer care (breast cancer, bone marrow transplant, pediatric oncology, etc.).

In-patient care, outpatient services, patient clinical trials, patient and public education programs and screening programs will be among the many services available within the new building. In addition, there will be an expanded Breast Center with state-of-the-art mammography services. Ongoing research will be conducted within the new facility to ensure that Ireland’s physician-scientists can continue to develop tomorrow’s innovative therapies. There will also be space to allow for future diagnostic and treatment advancements.
