The Office of Community Outreach at the UH Ireland Cancer Center provides information about cancer to people in Northeast Ohio who want to learn more about cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment for themselves or their loved ones. The Office of Community Outreach also serves as an advocate for increasing cancer awareness among minorities and populations with low income or limited access to health care or populations with higher than average rates of cancer and cancer deaths.
Through our partnerships with community organizations, coalitions, cancer survivor support networks and cancer advocacy agencies, UH Ireland Cancer Center develops and uses effective ways to increase cancer education, risk reduction, screening, and treatment.
