Mindfulness is a way of paying attention in the present moment, on purpose, and without judgement. Through the use of formal and informal practices we can train our minds and bodies in this kind of awareness. Participants will receive an introduction to the principles of mindfulness.

What Mindfulness Can Do

Research has indicated that for those who practice mindfulness there can be a positive influence on immune function and overall brain function, as well as a positive impact on:

  • pain sensitivity
  • blood pressure
  • anxiety and depression
  • feelings of well-being
  • the ability to pay attention
  • regulation of emotions
