A person’s ability to remain independently mobile has a huge impact on their total quality of life. Part of that mobile independence is based on the ability to ambulate (walk) from place to place—whether that place is to the kitchen in their own home, or to their automobile which will take them miles to their destination. Healthy feet and ankles translate into the real potential for a more active – thus healthier – lifestyle. Pathology within the foot can translate into pain in the ankles, knees, hips and even low back pain. University Hospitals – Geneva Medical Center features a range of Podiatric services designed to keep feet and ankles—the main source of personal transportation—in motion.
