The Bariatric Weight Management Program at UH Geauga Medical Center is pleased to offer Free Community Educational Seminars specific to Bariatric Surgery. Our seminars are held every other Thursday in the Conference Center at UH Geauga Medical Center. Seminars usually last about 1.5 hours and cost nothing to attend. You are more than welcome to bring your support person with you!
Advance registration is required. Please call 440-285-6469 for registration information or register online.
At our seminar you will hear from Ada, our clinical nurse coordinator, about the statistics of obesity. You will also hear from Cyndee, our program nutritionist, speaking about nutritious food choices with suggestions for what you can do now to get ready for surgery and a glimpse of how food choices will affect life after surgery. You will have the opportunity to meet and hear from Dr. Khaitan, our program surgeon. She will take you on a tour of the history of Bariatric surgery and present the surgical options that patients have available to them. Office and insurance coordinator Roxanne will also offer advice on dealing with health insurance matters and what is needed in order to obtain insurance pre-authorization and will explain the programs next steps and outline.
Once our presentation has concluded, we answer questions from those in attendance. You will leave our seminar with a packet of information to take home with you.
