Point of Care Testing is done with a Coagucheck system.
A blood sample is obtained with a finger stick; then a drop of this blood is placed on the test strip of the Coagucheck monitor. The monitor will then display PT/INR results.
Patients are informed immediately of their results and Coumadin adjustments will be made by the clinic staff.
The patient’s referring physician will be informed of test results and any Coumadin adjustments.
