Overview
Welcoming a new family member into the world is perhaps one of life’s most profound and joyous events.

Practicing a family-centered approach to childbirth, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center provides single-room maternity care. This proven concept enables the mother and family to remain in the same private, comfortable room through every stage of the childbirth process—labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum. Surgical suites are also available for Cesarean sections and complicated deliveries.

The department’s medical team is comprised of nurses, board-certified obstetricians, pediatricians and two onsite neonatologists from Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. This caring team assists each family before, during and after delivery. Their skill and dedication to quality care is reflected by the department’s impressive Cesarean-section rate, consistently one of the lowest in northeast Ohio.

The Center for Women's Health at Geauga Medical Center features all-private rooms along with private bathroom facilities and comfortable, homelike furnishings.

Because the birth of a baby involves lifestyle changes for the entire family, our certified childbirth instructors offer a variety of classes – including childbirth classes, refresher courses and sibling classes for sisters and brothers of the newborn. In addition, we provide infant-child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes, beeper and car seat rentals, and lactation consultant services.
