Functional Capacity Evaluations

UH Geauga Medical Center Performs Pre-Employment and Standard Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)

Through a partnership with Industrial Physical Capability Services (IPCS), University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center’s rehab team performs pre-employment functional capacity evaluations (FCEs).

This 45-minute test is performed using the Biodex System and the results are interpreted by IPCS.

We are also OTR-certified through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy for standard FCEs, a test that can last up to 4 hours. This type of FCE is typically performed to determine if an individual can return to a job with specific job tasks, or to assess for disability.
