University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center Provides Educational Programs for Pharmacy Students

UH Geauga Medical Center’s pharmacy teaches students from the University of Findlay, Ohio Northern University, University of Toledo, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) who are completing Advance Pharmacy Practice Education Rotations and/or Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences. At UH Geauga Medical Center’s Pharmacy, students will participate in the following:

  • Cost-saving initiatives
  • Error reporting
  • In-services
  • Inpatient rounds
  • Medication use evaluations
  • The local and regional Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee

Additionally, students will participate in assuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Pharmacy Rotations in Student Programs

  • Advanced institutional pharmacy
  • Emergency department
  • Internal medicine
  • Outpatient oncology
  • Pain management
  • Patient safety
  • Practice management
