The following list, was created by the members of the Primary Care Institute, and are the recommended screening tests specific to the age and gender of the patient.

Adults:

Women between the ages of 20 and 39:

  • Pelvic exam

Women between 40 and 49:

  • Blood pressure

  • Skin exam
  • Breast exam
  • Pelvic exam
  • Pap test
  • Mammography
  • Fasting plasma glucose test

Women 50+:

  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol
  • Skin exam
  • Breast exam
  • Mammogram
  • Fecal occult blood test
  • Pelvic exam
  • Pap test
  • Bone mineral density test
  • Fasting plasma glucose test
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone test
  • Colorectal cancer test

Men between the ages of 20-39:

  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol
  • Skin exam

Men between 40 and 49:

  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol

  • Fasting plasma glucose test

Men 50+:

  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol
  • Skin exam
  • Digital rectal exam
  • Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test
  • Fasting plasma glucose test
