Welcoming a new family member into the world is perhaps one of life’s most profound and joyous events.
Practicing a family-centered approach to childbirth, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center provides single-room maternity care. This proven concept enables the mother and family to remain in the same private, comfortable room through every stage of the childbirth process—labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum. Surgical suites are also available for Cesarean sections and complicated deliveries.
The department’s medical team is comprised of board-certified obstetricians, nurses, pediatricians and two onsite neonatologists from University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. This caring team assists each family before, during and after delivery. Their skill and dedication to quality care is reflected by the department’s impressive Cesarean-section rate, consistently one of the lowest in northeast Ohio.
The Center for Women's Health at UH Geauga Medical Center features all-private rooms along with private bathroom facilities and comfortable, homelike furnishings.
Because the birth of a baby involves lifestyle changes for the entire family, our certified childbirth instructors offer a variety of classes – including childbirth classes, refresher courses and sibling classes for sisters and brothers of the newborn. In addition, we provide infant-child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes, beeper and car seat rentals, and lactation consultant services.
