If you are experiencing shortness of breath or a chronic cough, an evaluation by the Geauga Medical Center Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team can provide the expertise and knowledge required to diagnose and treat your breathing condition. We know the fear and anxiety that people feel when they can’t breathe, and we are focused on helping patients regain their independence and emotional stability stolen by the breathing condition.

Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation program helps people with moderate to severe breathing problems overcome the physical limitations resulting from their disease. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program begins with a comprehensive evaluation by our expert pulmonary rehabilitation team, resulting in an individualized treatment plan will be developed for each patient. Typical treatment plans include a combination of supervised physical conditioning, disease education, environmental and nutritional counseling, and training and support to overcome the fear, anxiety and frustration which typically accompany breathing conditions.

The goals of pulmonary rehabilitation:
  • Enhance quality of life
  • Restore independence
  • Reduce/control breathing difficulties
  • Educate patients
  • Advance disease management
  • Promote healthy behaviors
  • Decrease number and length of hospital stays
  • Extend length of life
