Rehabilitation
The team of certified occupational and physical therapists at Geauga Medical Center has specialized training and extensive experience helping patients recover from upper extremity injuries and quickly regain their independence. Interaction with the therapist begins during a patient’s evaluation and continues throughout the patient’s treatment and recovery. The therapists and physicians design individualized therapy plans for the patient to meet their unique needs.
Our Therapists:
- Evaluate each patient and ensure a line of communication exists between the patient, physician, surgeon, and other team members
- Design individualized strength-building, flexibility, and range of motion exercise programs
- Educate patients on their condition and on future injury prevention
- Provide encouragement and support to the patient throughout the treatment and rehabilitation process
- Fabricate custom splints
- Help patients manage pain
- Oversee wound care
- Watch for signs of complications, inflammation and swelling
