Scott M. Zimmer, MD, provides expert care for all disorders of the hand, elbow and shoulder from fracture care to joint replacement, including the latest arthroscopic treatments.
Dr. Zimmer completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with honors. He graduated first in his class from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, and advanced training in surgery of the hand, elbow and shoulder at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital.
Dr. Zimmer is a board-certified member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, a select group of top hand surgeons in the US.
Dr. Zimmer has been a leading hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgeon in Northeast Ohio for more than a decade. He has been named one of Cleveland's best orthopedic and hand surgeons for the last several years by his peers in the medical field. Dr. Zimmer serves as President of Medical Staff at UH Beachwood Medical Center.

Dr. Zimmer, his PA and all his staff is awesome. They are professional, knowledgeable and very helpful weather I am in for a visit, procedure or just calling to schedule something. His bedside manner is awesome because he assesses your level of knowledge first then talks to you on that level.
Overall it was a good visit! The staff were in good spirits, as if they loved their job. I feel safe under Dr. Simmer's care.

Dr. Zimmer has helped me with both wrist & elbow problems, he found the problem with my wrist when another doctor didn't, even after that doctor had me get an MRI. I would highly recommend Dr. Zimmer
Dr. Zimmer took the time needed to explain my shoulder issues as well as do an on the spot X-ray and give me the results before I left. I know Dr's have a limited amount of time to spend with patients but Dr. Zimmer does a good job making sure everything is understood and all questions are answered. Time with patience is key.
