About
Monika Bhola, MD, FAAP, is Director of the Neonatal Extended Outpatient Clinic and Director of the Neonatal Simulation Center at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and Director of Neonatal Resuscitation Services at UH MacDonald Women's Hospital. She also is Associate Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bhola is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and has a special interest in medical care of the newborn. Her research interests include Apgar scoring in preterm infants and quality improvement during resuscitation in the delivery room.
She earned her medical degree from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, followed by a Diploma in Child Health from Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh, India, graduating first in her class. She completed a pediatrics residency at Columbus Cabrini Medical Center, Chicago, Ill., and a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Ill.
Dr. Bhola was appointed to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2004. Prior to that she was an attending physician in the neonatal intensive care unit and the Preemie Follow-up Clinic and Home Care, Loyola University Medical Center, Mayville, Ill.
She has coauthored nearly two dozen scientific papers and abstracts and has authored six textbook chapters and has spoken regionally and nationally on neonatal resuscitation and other topics.
Dr. Bhola is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
