Dr. Arafah is an OUTSTANDING Endocrinologist. He has been my lead physician for 35 years! And now I travel 1,200 miles annually to see him. If surgery became necessary, I would use UH and Dr. Arafah.

Dr. Arafah is an outstanding physician. He has a great "bedside manner" and listens carefully to the questions you have and gives thorough explanations that are easy to understand. I have a lot of confidence in his evaluation of my disorder.

Dr. Arafat, his fellows, past and present, staff are all best in class, and deliver best in class. Customer service combined with best in class medical advice, monitoring and follow up. You should use them as the benchmark against all other practices in the UH system, everyone in that office has a smile on their face, and I've been seeing him for a few years after the removal of my thyroid, ***

I really like Dr. Arafah. He is very straight forward with me.The biggest problem is the price of the meds I need so I'm not taking so much insulin. People are using it for diets, to lose weight. Pharmisotical co. Can charge a fortune for it.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.

As of December 31, 2016, Baha Arafah did not disclose any Outside Relationships with Industry.
