Outpatient Dietitian Program

Healthy Lifestyles Start at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center

UH Elyria Medical Center now offers the Healthy Lifestyles Medical Nutrition Therapy program to improve overall health. Participants and a registered dietitian work together to plan a program tailored for individual needs, targeting common nutritional concerns, including:

  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Weight management

During the initial 45-minute session, a registered dietitian will discuss health concerns related to diet, review the participant’s current dietary habits and work with each individual to make permanent lifestyle changes. Participants work individually with a dietitian to create a diet plan for specific nutritional and lifestyle needs. Participants keep a food journal for the dietitian to track progress and make updates to the diet plan as necessary.

Some insurance companies cover a visit for medical nutrition therapy with a diagnosed medical condition, so please contact your insurance company to verify insurance coverage.
