About the Screening

Certain Patients Qualify for Low-Dose CT Lung Screening at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center

Patients must meet specific criteria in order to receive the low dose computed tomography (CT) lung cancer screening at UH Elyria Medical Center, including:

  • Patients must be between the ages of 55 and 74
  • Patients must have a smoking history of one pack a day for 30 years, or two packs a day for 15 years
  • Have had NO previous CT of the chest examination
  • Have NO history of lung cancer

Receiving Screening Results

Each examination will be interpreted by a board certified radiologist and will be sent to the patient’s primary care physician within 72 hours. The physician will review individual results with each patient.
